The FEREX fluxgate magnetometer measures disruptions in the Earth’s magnetic field caused by ferromagnetic objects. It provides reliable detection of ferromagnetic metals such as iron, steel, and nickel. The FEREX can therefore be used for archeological digs and geographical studies as well as detecting old weaponry such as unexploded WWII bombs.
